HCA offers a K-12 visual arts education program of art concepts designed to allow creative exploration through understanding and mastery of elements and principles of design. Students at each grade level develop skills in media manipulation and design application that allow freedom in visual expression and creativity.
HCA provides art instruction weekly at the elementary and middle school level and Art 1 and Action Analysis at the High School level. Our students pursuing higher education degrees in art have enjoyed success in college art program admissions and scholarship awards.
Music education at HCA includes opportunities for all students to discover, develop, and use their musical gifts for the glory of God. We aim to help students achieve an appreciation for the beautiful tapestry that is MUSIC. This evolves through the exploration and expression of musical genres from different historical periods, interwoven with music from diverse cultures around the world. Music is offered to students in grades K through 5th and Praise Team is available for students in 8th-12th.
Elementary, middle and high school students enjoy opportunities for exploration and drama experience. Our curriculum includes offerings in Performing Literature and Speech. Recent high school productions include Little Women, Our Town, Mulan, Pirates of Penzance, Seussical, Jr., A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Little Mermaid Jr., The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Into the Woods, Jr., The Sound of Music, and Suessical Jr. In the spring of 2025, drama students performed two shows of High School Musical, Jr.
The yearbook staff chronicles the events of the school year in a beautifully designed memory book treasured by our HCA families. Students and supporting staff select themes, design covers and pages, take photos, write content, sell ads, and meet publishing deadlines.
