What is a Day Like at Haywood Christian Academy?
Before You Arrive at School
A great school day at Haywood Christian Academy begins at home. Students prepare to learn before they hop in the car with a good wake-up schedule and a nutritious breakfast.
Once students arrive at HCA, instruction begins. Our teachers excel in their various areas of study and in their Christian character. Your children are able to see how each relates to God’s Word and God’s world.
After a brief snack and additional academic study, students have the opportunity to study the Scriptures. Monday through Thursday, your children study Biblical subjects ranging from Old and New Testament to Church History, Worldviews, and Theology. On Fridays, students and staff attend chapel where they worship together and enjoy a message from a local pastor or Christian leader.
Midway through the school day, your child will enjoy a nutritious meal and an opportunity to fellowship with classmates and teachers.
After a healthy lunch, students enjoy additional afternoon instruction that can include special classes such as personal fitness, praise band, drama, art, graphic deign, and yearbook. These classes help students engage their creative side.
There are a host of extracurricular activities available at Haywood Christian Academy. From clubs to sports, our goal is to continue to disciple students through participation in school activities beyond the classroom. On the court or in the field, students are taught to play hard, and put forth their best effort, while maintaining Christ-like sportsmanship. We also challenge students to serve Waynesville and Haywood County through a variety of service projects that help put feet to their faith.
