Whether you are one who loves being adventurous in nature, gazing upon the magnificent mountains, trekking through caves and caverns or one who loves to sit down to enjoy pumpkin or apple treats, there is something for every member of your family here in western North Carolina.
When you take a moment to consider whether to send your child to private school or not, there are probably many questions that come to mind, as well as media-driven stereotypes.
Maybe you have tried public school and notice that your child is struggling, whether academically, socially, or spiritually. Summer in the mountains is the best time of year for many families.
With schools out for a few months, it is an opportunity to spend quality time together. There is so much to explore in western North Carolina; you couldn't possibly do it all in a single summer.
The warm summer months are exactly the right time to see and do as much as you can. Being at a higher elevation than other parts of the state, we do get a break from the most extreme heat. However, there will be some days and weeks that you and your family will need to find some ways to beat the heat. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to do that around here as well.

The 2020-2021 school year is drawing to a close. It has been a long, strange year in western North Carolina. Many students in Haywood County had to navigate remote learning for significant portions of the year. Parents often felt like the primary educators for their children, while they were also figuring out how to work from home. As we begin to return to normal, parents and students are breathing a sigh of relief.
When the final bell rings, it can be tempting to put away all books and learning for the remainder of summer, however, education never really takes a break.
